1 14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk
12 oz bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips (about 2 cups)
9 oz white chips (about 1 1/2 cups)
3/4C crushed candy canes (about 6 candy canes or one gigantic one.) I put them in a baggie and used a rolling pin to crush mine until mostly powdery with some chunks. **reserve a small amount for garnish**
Line a 7X9 pan with foil. (8X8 would work too, but it will be very thick)
Have everything ready to throw in the pan because you don’t have long to mix it together.
Heat sweetened condensed milk over low heat (nonstick pans works best). Keep an eye on this because it can burn easily. Lower heat takes longer but is safer.
When the milk is warm, add chips, vanilla and candy canes and stir until chips are melted and candy canes are mixed in thoroughly.
Pour into foiled pan and use spatula to spread out . You can sprinkle the top with reserved crushed candy canes at this time. It sets very quickly. Let cool a few hours and then cut into small pieces. Keep covered for best results.
If you want more mint, next time add mint extract instead of vanilla, but test the recipe first because you don’t want it to be too minty. I didn’t count the number of candy canes I used because *I*can’t have too much mint.
